The Turing codec was developed by a group of video compression engineers with a vast experience in video compression algorithms and practical implementations of software-based video codecs. The open source distribution of the Turing codec is a way of sharing our knowledge and expertise with everyone professionally involved in video compression applications or simply interested in this field. Our ambition is that together we can make the Turing codec grow into one of the most widely adopted HEVC implementations and become a reference for a powerful, lightweight and extremely efficient video compression platform.

If you are interested in video codec development and want to help us taking the Turing codec to a higher level, you are welcome to contribute to our open source project. Your involvement will give you high visibility in the community and strengthen your expertise in practical video compression software development.
